A pregnant woman loses her baby after her husband chooses his mistress over her.
Sharon Hughes exposes Ryan Young's affair with Joyna Roy when a car accident brings the truth to light. Instead of accountability, Ryan defends his mistress while Sharon's closest friend Ava Hayes admits she helped conceal the betrayal. Joyna then fabricates evidence of child endangerment, provoking Ryan to inflict cruelty that causes Sharon's miscarriage. Sharon divorces him and joins rival Gael Wood's company, where she heals and builds a new life.
